Privacy Policy
ProCierge
Who We Are
ProCierge is operated by Roots N Remedies LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information ProCierge collects, how we use it, and — because ProCierge is built around families and includes accounts for children — how we handle information belonging to minors specifically.
This policy covers the ProCierge mobile app only. Other products from Roots N Remedies LLC, as they launch, will each have their own separate privacy policy.

A Note on Children's Privacy — Read This First
ProCierge is designed so that children never create their own accounts, never provide their own information directly to us, and are never independently reachable by other adults on the platform.
- Every account holder is an adult, verified as 18 or older at signup.
- A child (0–17) is added to ProCierge only by a verified adult guardian, through the app's "Add a Child" feature. The guardian — not the child — provides whatever information exists about the child in our systems.
- Children cannot search for, message, or otherwise independently interact with anyone outside the specific circle of people their guardian has approved.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, and the guardian-managed account structure described above is how that consent and control is implemented in the app itself.
- A parent/guardian can review, request changes to, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us or through the in-app Family & Kids settings.
More detail on how this works is in the "Children's Privacy" section below.
Information We Collect
Information adults provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, birthdate (used only to confirm you're 18+), password (stored securely; we never see it in plain text).
- Identity verification: to keep the community trustworthy, adult accounts go through identity verification (government ID + a live selfie match) via our verification provider. We do not store the ID image or selfie ourselves — verification happens, and the underlying documents are not retained by ProCierge afterward ("verify, then hold nothing").
- Profile information: photo, handle, and other information you choose to add to your profile.
- Content you create: posts, messages, photos, business listings, reviews, and anything else you post or send through the app.
- Payment information (planned feature — not yet live): if/when in-app payment features (such as gifting a meal or hiring local help) launch, payment details will be handled directly by our payment processor (Stripe); ProCierge does not store your full card or bank details on our own servers.
Information about children, provided by their guardian
- Name, birthdate, and any other information a guardian chooses to add when creating a child's managed sub-account.
- Activity within guardian-visible features (e.g., the Family Board, kindness/allowance tracking, kid-adjacent job or ride threads) — visible to the guardian, not to other users.
Location information
- Home location (opt-in only): if an adult opts into being "findable at home" for neighbor-discovery features, we store an approximate location, intentionally rounded to reduce precision (roughly a half-mile square) rather than an exact address. This is never enabled by default and is never available for minors.
- Live location: used only in the moment for specific, consent-based features (such as an active safety alert or family-only location sharing) and is not stored as a location history.
- We do not track or retain a history of everywhere you've been.
Information collected automatically
Device information, app usage data, and a push-notification token (used to deliver alerts you've opted into, such as neighborhood alerts or appointment reminders).
How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the app's features (community posts, messaging, the map, family tools, verification, etc.)
- To keep the community safe — verifying members, reviewing reports, enforcing our Community Standards, and responding to safety concerns.
- To send you notifications you've opted into.
- To improve the app and fix problems.
- We do not use children's information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles on children.
- We do not sell personal information, of adults or children, to anyone.
How We Share Information
We share information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers who help us run the app, under agreements that limit what they can do with it — for example, our database/hosting provider (Supabase), our identity-verification provider, our mapping and business-listing data source (Google), our push-notification service (Expo), and, for planned payment features, Stripe.
- With other users, only as the app's features intend — e.g., your posts are visible per the feature's own scope (neighborhood, city, or your specific circle); a child's information is visible only to their guardian(s) and, where a guardian has specifically approved it, a vetted Trusted Community Member — never to the general public or to unapproved adults.
- When required by law, or to protect the safety of a child or any user, including cooperating with law enforcement or child-protection authorities where legally required.
- In a business transfer (such as a merger or acquisition), subject to the same privacy commitments described here.
We do not sell personal information or share it with data brokers or advertisers.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
This section is specifically about how ProCierge complies with children's privacy laws (such as the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).
- No child can create their own ProCierge account. There is no sign-up path available to anyone identifying as under 18.
- A verified adult guardian creates and controls a child's managed sub-account. By creating that sub-account, the guardian is providing verifiable consent for the limited information involved.
- We collect the minimum information necessary to operate guardian-visible features (schedules, kindness/allowance tracking, guardian-approved contacts) — not for any purpose beyond running those features.
- A child's exact location is never shared outside their family. Standing location tracking exists only from a guardian to their own child's device, not to any other party.
- A guardian can review, correct, or delete their child's information at any time, through the app's Family & Kids settings or by contacting us directly at [contact email].
- We do not knowingly allow a child to be contacted by an adult who hasn't been specifically approved by their guardian AND independently vetted by the community's Trusted Community Member process (which itself requires sponsorship from other verified adults and, for any kid-facing role, a background check).
- If we learn that a child has provided personal information to us through some path other than the guardian-managed process described here, we will delete it promptly.
Data Security
- Passwords are never stored in plain, readable form.
- Identity documents are verified and then not retained ("verify, then hold nothing").
- Access to personal information within our database is restricted at the database level (row-level security), meaning even a technical bug elsewhere in the app cannot expose one user's private data to another user who isn't supposed to see it.
- We do not maintain a location history for any user.
No system is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but data protection — especially for children's information — is treated as a core design requirement of the app, not an afterthought.
Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction: you can review and update most of your information directly in the app.
- Deletion: you can request deletion of your account and associated information by contacting us at [contact email].
- Location opt-out: "findable at home" and other location-sharing features are opt-in and can be turned off at any time.
- Guardian rights over a child's information: as described in the Children's Privacy section above.
Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the app's features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Identity-verification documents are not retained at all once verification is complete. Location history is not retained by design, since we do not warehouse it in the first place.
International Users
[To confirm: where is data actually stored/processed — which region is the Supabase project hosted in? Needed before this section can be finalized, especially if any users are outside the U.S.]
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. If we make material changes, we will provide notice in the app or by other reasonable means before the change takes effect.
